The most independent and distrustful people usually live under the advice that you can’t count on anyone, not even your own shadow. Although it sounds like an extreme recommendation, it is true for some who have suffered many betrayals in their lives, even by their closest people. It is not ideal, and although life has shown us many disappointing cases, it always teaches us that there will be some friends who will not leave us even in the most difficult moments, and an example of this are the dogs.
It doesn’t matter if some decide to abandon us because dogs will always be by our side in one way or another. Difficult situations make some people make unfair decisions, as one family in Nigeria did with a mentally unstable woman who lived with them. As Twitter user @Nigeriangod_ recounted, these people would have grown tired of her and found no better option than to leave her to her fate on the street. Alone, without family or friends who can take her in, the woman usually sits on the sidewalk in front of the place where the user is staying, but she always has the company of her little dog, the only one who did not abandon her.
“There is a mentally unstable woman in front of the area where I stay, I noticed that every night a dog used to come and play with her, and the way they both interact is always a beauty to see. I was told that she owned the dog before she had her mental problems and she comes to visit her every night,” the man said on Twitter.
In the dead of night, the faithful canine companion becomes the light that gives the woman security.
“She was abandoned by family and friends, but her dog never did,” the young man commented in the tweet. Unlike the humans who left her when they felt they could no longer care for her, the furry friend goes to visit her whenever he can so that she is not alone, without judging or discriminating against her. He has been through thick and thin by her side.
“The dog doesn’t even mind her smells, or the fact that she hasn’t been brushed or bathed for months or years, he just loves her unconditionally,” the man added on the social network.
This publication quickly went viral, many expressed their feelings on the social network platform and many others had the intention of reaching out to her to offer her some help.
“The more I know the people, the more I love the dogs,” commented one user.
“There is no doubt that puppies are the most faithful beings that God could give us,” said another.
