A friend started an affair with a married man, but his wife outsmarted them both

My friend back then had just turned twenty-five. She was young, slim, and really lovely. She landed a job at a travel agency, and that’s where she started a relationship with the boss.

He was over forty, married, and had two children. He began renting her a flat and showering her with expensive gifts. They were together for almost a year.

She always knew he had a family and that he didn’t intend to divorce. But somehow, he started to consider leaving his wife. His wife suspected he was cheating, he said so himself.

She never confronted him, never searched his pockets or checked his phone, never made a fuss about it. Instead, she stayed calm, never caused any drama. That attitude made the guy feel really guilty. His wife was gentle, affectionate, and thoughtful. She started looking after herself morelost some weight, changed her hair colour. And a few months later, once the spark between my friend and him began to fade, his wife came to work at the agency as their head accountant. My friend was terrified to pick up her pay on payday, expecting some sort of outburst, but the wife was always polite and respectful, never out of line.

Over time, the boss cooled off towards his lover, and she, out of frustration, started causing trouble for him. Meanwhile, his wife was charming and poised. Slowly, things between my friend and the boss fell aparthe preferred to stay in with his family at night now. The turning point for all three happened during a business trip they had to take together. It turned out my friend was rude at the meeting, thinking her affair with the boss gave her some special status at work.

She ended up looking worse than the wifethe very woman her boyfriend was cheating on. The boss asked her to leave the flat and told her it was over. When she got to work, the head accountant called her in and said her services were no longer required.

To this day, my friend says she wishes she could forget the whole thing, but she’s still really impressed by the way his wife handled herselfshe admires her for it.

The wife turned out to be a wise and resourceful woman. She carried herself in such a way that her husband fell head over heels for her all over again. Now he absolutely adores her. But no one knows how hard it was for her, how much she cried and suffered. She pulled herself together, waited until the romantic haze wore off, and then stepped in. Thats what a clever woman does.

But most women? About ninety percent, honestlythey end up fighting, shouting, glaring, and threatening their men. And the guy, caught up in his fling, wont choose the grumpy wife over his sweet loverhes just not thinking clearly at that point.

Does the wife understand this? Well, emotions get in the way, of course. Life shows that only those who can be patient and act wisely end up winning.

If you ever find out your husbands cheating and want to scratch the other womans eyes out, try to collect yourself. Calm down and thinkmaybe theres still a chance hell come back to you. Go for a run, book a facial, see a counsellor, get your hair done. Sign up for a class, take dancing lessons, find an interesting job or switch careers. Start loving and respecting yourselfhonestly, that makes all the difference.
