My son is 26 years old, unmarried, and is not even dating a girl. My father and I were tactfully silent, but yesterday I decided to talk to him, so to speak, heart to heart. We have a normal relationship, so he was not offended by my question about his loneliness. But I was struck by his phrase: “Mom, the girl to date is very expensive, and marry even more expensive, I am comfortable alone.
But how so? He is our only child, we were expecting grandchildren, and then this… We are not poor, we have average income, and my son works. What is it about girls that makes my son prefer to be alone? I understand the need for gifts, to take a girl to a restaurant, but this is not fabulous money!
I hear among my acquaintances and work colleagues that their daughters can’t get married, they complain that guys don’t want to get married. I have the opposite. Maybe the girls have too high demands? But do not want to create a family, to have children?
It’s a pity that everything is measured by money and position, and not by personal qualities.
