My mother-in-law loves my daughter’s children more than ours, from her son. Our children sense this and tell us their grievances.
Mother-in-law cannot be changed. But one very important thing I said to my children: “My darlings, you have experienced the role of the unloved grandchild. You know what it is like to be unloved, and how painful it feels. But when you become fathers and grandfathers yourself, you won’t allow your children and grandchildren to be divided into loved and unloved. But you and Daddy love you more than life! And the other grandmother (my mom) loves you so much!”
You have to look on the bright side in this situation, too.
