Robert Joyce, a minister from rural central Arkansas, has ignited a fascinating online debate. Due to his strikingly similar voice to Elvis Presley, the King of Rock and Roll, a video of Joyce went viral, prompting people to question his identity.
The Express interviewed lifelong Elvis fan Tom Mennel, who, at 61, still believes Joyce is Elvis. Mennel, who has adored the King since age six, hopes Joyce will eventually reveal his true identity. “Mr. Joyce is like Elvis to me, and I really hope he’ll come clean about who he really is,” Mennel said, adding a spiritual perspective: “Perhaps God is using Elvis’ voice to minister to broken hearts and broken lives.”
Reflecting on what he would say if Elvis were still alive, Mennel stated, “If Elvis were alive, I would say to him, my friend and brother, we are of kindred spirits. In Christ, we are united.”
