My wife and I had been saving up for our apartment for a long time without any help. That is why we did not plan to have a second child, so we could invest everything in one. And by the time my son finished his studies and found a job, we had already prepared an apartment for him, albeit a one-room apartment. But we kept saving money to add to it later to expand.
We rented out the apartment until my son met a girl. Why rent when you have your own apartment? We bought it in his name right away, though my sister warned us against such a step. Her son divorced and left the apartment she and her husband bought for him to his wife and child. Now she lives there with her common-law husband, and her nephew went back to his parents. But we didn’t want to offend our son with mistrust, for which we paid the price.
My son got married, and two years later my daughter-in-law convinced him to move to her hometown closer to her parents. My wife and I were upset, my son was our only son, and we wanted to nurse our grandchildren. But another blow awaited us – my son sold the apartment! We have put us before the fact. For this money he bought two cars – for himself and for his daughter-in-law. How can you compare real estate to a car? In five or six years it will already be scrap metal, and housing is lost.
Live with her parents for now. I understand that the apartment is his, and he has the right to dispose of it, but why so mediocre?
