I’m sick of the sloppy guy

My boyfriend is very untidy. I noticed it before, and when we started living together, I was just horrified. I hate kissing him when I have bad breath. His teeth are healthy, he just gets lazy about brushing them sometimes. That’s nonsense to me. Personal hygiene has always been a priority.

I constantly give him expensive shampoos, creams, even acne scrubs. But he can go to work with an unwashed head without showering in the morning. How can he not be ashamed to sit in the office looking like that when everyone is well-groomed around him?

His parents invited him over for tea on Friday night. I was after work, he had time to go home and feed the cat. He came home wearing dirty, leaky socks. I couldn’t stand it, made a remark. He said that he did not come to see strangers, and parents, so there is nothing to wash and dress up. And where was the basic respect for them and everyone around them?

True, I was supported by my mother-in-law, saying that he wore her nerves out when he went to school. I heard a lot of reprimands from the teachers. I hoped that when he grew up he would change, especially when he said he was in love and would live with a girl. Yes, for my sake he took care of himself at first, and when he got used to it, we live together, he decided not to waste time on “trifles”.

How can I explain that I am disgusted when he smells like that, his shirt reeks of sweat? He has one phrase to my remark: “I love you the way you are, and you mean you don’t love me!” Naturally, he loves me the way I am. I take care of myself, manicure and pedicure regularly, my figure is trim.

I’ve never thought that you could fall out of love with someone just because he’s sloppy.
