Honestly, mate, my breakup with my ex ended up with us facing each other in court. I wont bother going into who was right or wrong lets be fair, in a relationship, its usually both people that share the blame.
But truth be told, my second wife got herself a lover. Hes a well-off businessman who moved to London ages ago, and eventually opened a small coffee shop round the corner from us. At first, she tried to hide her affair, but in the end, they didnt even bother keeping it secret.
Then one day she shows up and tells me straight out that shes filing for divorce and wants half of our house. She thought Id lose my head and panic, but the thing is, that house was bought entirely with my hard-earned pounds. My ex didnt contribute a single penny, apart from living in it for a couple of years. And now shes got the cheek to claim half of it for herself.
I kept my cool though. I didnt try to talk her out of going to court. I just waited for her to lose the case and pay the legal fees. Id already been through a nightmare with my first wife, mind you that court drama lasted over three years. We could never settle anything peacefully, every hearing ended up a proper scene.
But you know what, my first wife managed to get her way in the end she sued me for half my assets and landed a brilliant solicitor. In the process, she left me without the flat I inherited from my dad.
After all that, when it came to my second wife, I was much smarter. Before we got married, I already had a flat I’d renovated myself, but Id registered it in my brothers name. Hes the only person I trust absolutely. So, when divorce was looming, it turned out I didnt own anything. After the mess with my first marriage, no womans ever going to pull a fast one on me again.
