My husband no longer criticizes me for my appearance

I have heard many such stories about husbands starting to criticize their wives for their appearance after a few years of married life, saying that they are fat. This happens especially after giving birth, as in the confession, in which the husband put forward a whole list of demands to change their appearance. It was she who prompted me to write about the exact same situation my husband and I have. Only I reacted differently.

I gained weight not after giving birth, but much later. My husband and I have been married for 12 years. One day he said that I was fat and it’s time to get my figure in order and not only that. He was referring to the small wrinkles around my eyes. I am not fat in the literal sense of the word, at 164 centimeters tall I weigh only 140 pounds. And since I run in the morning, then my figure is not slim, but close-knit, nothing hangs anywhere.

And on such claims, I suggested to my husband to undress naked and look at himself in the mirror. There he would see a sagging beer belly, crooked legs, and an unshaven face. And if he wants me to lose weight, I have the same desire for his appearance. And in the morning I woke him up to run with me, oatmeal without butter and coffee for breakfast. In the fridge in the evening he found no sausage, no cheese, but plenty of fruits and vegetables. He realized he had lost and hasn’t brought up the subject of my weight loss since. And after our morning run, he even wonders how I can make myself get up an hour early and still run sleepy. I joked that I would give him a dog if he made a comment about me being fat at least once more. Then he would walk in the morning, too.
