Mother-in-law ultimatum

My situation is just the opposite – my husband’s parents do not want to see me at family gatherings, although there have never been direct quarrels with them. My mother-in-law just had an antipathy towards me. This dislike has been going on for five years. We have a child, we live separately, but this neglect on the part of my mother-in-law hurts me a lot. I have done nothing wrong to her. It’s just that my husband left his girlfriend when he met me. Apparently his mother was very attached to her or there were some other advantages in the form of money.

I heard a lot about this girl, how beautiful and smart she was. And although my mother-in-law does not directly compare me to her, makes it clear that I am no match for her. My husband is calm about it, just asked not to pay attention. And this is when he and his son are going to the mother-in-law’s birthday party, where I was not invited. My husband says: “I can not go or make me invite you too! I’m an hour and a half.” But arrives late at night.

When I invite my husband’s parents to visit us, they do not think it is necessary to come and even on the phone to say hello to the holiday. My mom decided to behave the same way and invited only me to my dad’s birthday party, explicitly telling my husband that it was a family holiday and they only wanted to see my daughter and grandson. My husband took offense, but pretended not to care. But my mother-in-law called me and told me that if I wanted to be married, I had to give up these “tricks. And I replied that I was no longer sure that I wanted to be married, but just wanted to decide for myself whether my grandson would be present at her birthday party or if he would only see his father on Sundays.

I was the first one to interrupt the conversation and so far no reaction from my husband or his parents. I’m looking forward to the New Year, which my husband is celebrating with his parents. If it’s like that this time too, I will also go to my parents, but for good.
