– You don’t need me anymore, – my husband suddenly wanted a divorce when we hired a housekeeper. That was the reason.

Women who have worked, raised a child, and taken care of household chores all at the same time will understand. Society somehow thinks we should be able to do everything and do it with a smile, but after all, we are not superheroes, but ordinary people. Help me explain this to my husband.

I consider myself a career woman. Even before I got married, work came first. After that came family life, having a baby, which caused my career to take a big hit. I had to sacrifice some things to succeed. I didn’t have time to clean the house after work, I sometimes ordered dinner, and I only did laundry on weekends.

Soon I reached the position I wanted. High pay, but also appropriate responsibilities. My husband never complained that I didn’t make time for him, coming in late and going straight to bed. Anyway, to alleviate my misery, I hired an assistant. She came to us three times a week and helped with household chores. True, we had to pay a lot of money for such a luxury, but my salary fully covered all expenses, especially since my husband also earns good money.

The first time we were happy with the presence of a stranger in our house, but suddenly my husband said that if now we have a helper, he does not need me anymore.

Is a woman only for cleaning and cooking? What about love, marital happiness? I understand that a lot of problems have accumulated lately, and I try to cope with everything, but it is impossible every day to cook, wash, go to bed after midnight and get up at six. Even on weekends, you can’t get enough sleep. I don’t have the strength anymore. My husband and I fight all the time because of this. He wants to see me in rags, ungroomed, immersed in household chores. But I want to give my son a carefree childhood, to be an example for him. What to do?
