This story happened a few months ago. One evening, William was driving back from Heathrow after he had picked up his mother. On the way, he came across a young woman standing alone by the side of the motorway. He decided to give her a lift. In the car, William offered her his jacket, since she was drenched to the bone.
It turned out that her own father had raised a hand against her, so she asked William to take her to the train station where she could stay the night and think about what to do in the morning. William couldnt bring himself to just leave her in trouble, so he suggested she stay at his place for a while. Thats how the young woman ended up living with William. Three months later, something unexpected occurred.
One day, the young woman started feeling unwell and it soon became clear that she was pregnant. At first, William didnt know how to respond to the news, but he quickly made up his mind that ending the pregnancy was out of the question. He proposed to her. The amusing part is that William now boasts to everyone about what a brilliant cook his wife is and how wonderful a host she makes. Yet, theres something hes hidingtruthfully, hes never been able to truly love a woman, but he stays with her out of compassion.
