There are parents who help and support their children even when they have long since grown up and left home. But sometimes it happens to us: my wife’s parents have the opportunity to help us financially, but they don’t want to. It is very unpleasant. Honestly, I don’t even want to talk to them.

They have two apartments. They live in one and rent out the other. We have three children and have to rent.

I don’t understand my father-in-law and mother-in-law! Do they really not care about their own grandchildren?

Once I hinted that it was difficult for us to move from one apartment to another. I hoped they would offer us to move into the apartment they were renting. There are already strangers living there. But I got my hopes up in vain. My father-in-law just shook his head and said:

I was unpleasantly surprised by his words. Is thirty-three too young? It’s so hard to get pregnant nowadays. I may be a stranger to them. But don’t they feel sorry for their own daughter and grandchildren?

Recently we had to change apartments again. The daughter of the landlady from whom we rented the apartment is returning from abroad and plans to live there. This move was hard for us.

All our money goes to pay for rent and food. I’m not even talking about vacation and entertainment. We have no way to save money.

My parents live in the village. They are not rich, but they help us as much as they can: they send us vegetables and canned food. But my wife’s parents refuse to help us.

How can you do that to your own children? Their old age is not far off, and we’ll see who will take care of them. I personally am not going to do it. They have not helped us in any way.

My wife’s parents are convinced that we should earn our own money for housing.
