Why Did You Bring Your Son to the Wedding? We Didn’t Invite Children!

Hey love, youve got to hear what went on at Emmas wedding. So, I told you my little boy, Oliver, is nine, sweettempered and usually pretty quiet. Emma had been planning her big day for months and the invites clearly said adults only no children. I wasnt thrilled with that rule, but I promised my mate Rachel shed look after Oliver while were at the reception.

Then, the night before the ceremony, Rachel rang me up all panicked because shed come down with a fever. She was apologising like mad, saying she couldnt make it. I tried to calm her down, stood in the kitchen feeling torn. Oliver was already fast asleep and the next morning was the wedding. I thought, What am I supposed to do? I decided Id take Oliver with me after all, I couldnt leave him alone at home.

My brotherinlaw, James, is well off, so the wedding was set to be a proper do. Emma was a bundle of nerves before the big day, so I didnt give her a headsup that Id be bringing Oliver. When she saw the little lad, her face went from bright to stone in an instant. She practically lost it and shouted:

Why on earth did you bring your son to a childfree wedding? We never invited kids! Youve ruined everything!

I was mortified. Oliver just stood there, clueless about the drama. And honestly, why make such a fuss? But that was only the start.

James stepped in, looking deadpan, and said, Let her have the kid. Its her call where she takes him. I was stunned. Emma wouldnt even listen to my explanations she just kept scowling.

I got fed up, grabbed Oliver, and bolted out of the venue. Mom and dad stayed at the reception, looking miserable and not really in the spirit of celebration. The whole vibe was way off.

Now Emmas still angry, demanding an apology. I dont think Im in the wrong her reaction hasnt done her any favours, especially with a baby on the way. Do you think I should apologise? What would you do if you were in my shoes? Let me know.
