**Diary Entry 12th May**
The day our daughter Eleanor was born, William and I were overjoyed. But soon, our happiness was shadowed by the odd behaviour of our golden retriever, Daisy.
The turning point came when I discovered I was pregnantDaisy had sensed it before anyone else. Throughout my pregnancy, she never left my side, guarding me like a silent sentinel.
After Eleanor arrived, life seemed perfect. But when I had to return to university, our friend Charlotte took over babysitting. Though she seemed trustworthy, Daisy was instantly wary. She growled whenever Charlotte got too close to the baby, blocking her path.
Things escalated when Charlotte claimed Daisy had attacked her. Worried, William and I checked the security footageand were horrified. Charlotte had set up a hidden camera and was clearly taking orders from a man on the phone. Daisy had positioned herself protectively over Eleanor.
The police intervened. It turned out Charlotte was part of an international child trafficking ring. Thanks to Daisys instincts, Eleanor was saved in time.
Months later, I noticed discrepancies in a charitys records. Again, Daisy reactedthe moment a suspicious company name flashed on my screen, she barked wildly. Investigations uncovered a money-laundering network linked to the earlier case.
Daisy became our quiet hero. An international animal welfare group awarded her for exceptional loyalty and intuition. In our home, three pictures now hang: one of Daisy basking in sunlight, a family portrait in the garden, and a framed quote:

I still keep this diary. On the first page, it reads:
*Daisy was the light when we were lost in the dark.*
