When I was finished with my education in the UK, a relative suggested that I purchase new work clothes because I knew I would be returning to Nigeria. I should have bought them at a lower price than the high prices in Nigeria. She also advised me on how to purchase in bulk so I could have plenty of them for a long period.

Because I had enough money from my student job, it was easy for me to save money and buy clothes. I purchased two large bags of clothes for my parents when they visited. They were able to take the bags back with them.

My goal was to find employment in a respectable business upon my return. I didn’t realize that I would be working in large corporations and wearing these clothes. I meant they would be useful to use.

I was able to find work a month after my return but the dress code of the office prevented me from wearing fancy clothes. We were instead allowed to wear casual clothes.

As a result, I kept my dresses and never wore them. Every time I look at my clothes I make a promise to myself that I will one day work for a big corporation and wear this elegant clothing.

My friend was eventually hired by a large company a few years later. The truth is that I was interested in the job. It was offered to me, but I was rejected. I felt like God was drawing something close to me, before taking it away. She was also a positive influence on me.

My spouse kept telling me that I would work somewhere where I could wear these clothes one day. He would agree with me in my faith, and say Amen.

I have never been able to work for a large corporation in Nigeria. My experience was limited to one man working on jobs. I enjoyed the experience, but I still longed for more. I trusted God to give me what I needed.

When I arrived in the United States, I prayed that God would not allow me to work for the same organization as Nigeria. My expensive clothes were also not to be thrown away. I bought those work clothes knowing that I would be able to get a job with a multinational company in my local area.

After just a few weeks, my dreams became a reality. My new job in a multinational corporation is the best part. I get to wear the clothes I purchased out of faith in 2014.

They are my daily companion to work and I thank God every day for allowing me to fulfill my heart’s desire. They were purchased out of faith and I’m now able to wear them.

A dream struck me. In my dream, I was working for a large corporation. These outfits were purchased to live in this faith. My first thought was that I would find employment in Nigeria. But God had other plans. In his mind, I am certain that God was just telling me to relax, my daughter. This job is not something you’re praying for in Nigeria. The job could bring you money.

God deserves to be praised for making this dream come true. Although it took me five years to save the dresses, I hoped that one day I would be able work where I could wear them.

Time is what separates what we want from what we don’t have. This is something I often remark on. You will see God provide for you every step of the way if you keep your faith.

It doesn’t matter how absurd it may sound, your dreams can come true. I remember telling someone that I kept these clothes because I could, through a mystical intervention, be in the exact office of my dreams. She advised me to not imagine it. She said she didn’t see me there. She claimed that I was too large to fit in them. However, just because she couldn’t see it with her eyes doesn’t mean it wouldn’t.

Others will talk you out of your dreams. Pay no attention to their opinions. Keep your faith level the same as theirs.

Please don’t compromise on what you have placed your faith in God. Never lose hope. Keep your eyes open and positive. Your dreams will come true. Amen.
