Well, My Mom Did Believe Me!

**Diary Entry**

Mum actually believed me when I told her. It happened last Easter, around eight in the evening on Maundy Thursday. I was walking down a dimly lit street, the only light coming from a single flickering lamp-post. The rest was swallowed by darkness. Then, in the distance, I saw it—a looming shadow. Not human. It didn’t walk. It just… approached. No sound, no shifting shape.

The closer I got, the heavier the air felt. Then, in the blink of an eye, it vanished. Just like that. I froze, my mind scrambling to make sense of it. And the worst part? Only a block away lies St. Mary’s churchyard.

Now, whenever I pass that street, I keep my eyes fixed straight ahead. Just in case it comes back.
