When I used to play “Daughter-Mother” with my friends as a child, I always chose the role of the second mother. I dreamed of growing up and raising two beautiful children. And everything really happened as I wanted it to. A wonderful husband, true love, and now I have children – an older boy and a younger girl.
Although my husband loves both me and the children very much, he has a strict temperament, so he decided to raise the children in this way. He wanted the little boy to become a real man, and the girl to become a lady. Accordingly, we raised them and communicated with him as if they were already those things, instead of playing games with good and evil policemen.
Once we had an unpleasant situation. This often happens to children. My son got angry with his sister and threw a car at her, screaming: “I’m so tired of you, you little fool!”
My daughter, like a real lady, left the room for the bathroom and started crying, so I went to comfort her, and my husband came up to my son and said: “Now we are going to have an important conversation!”
I know what happened between them next from my husband’s words.
– What kind of behavior is this? Is this what real men do?” the man asked, and his son just lowered his head and he continued, “And did you notice how your sister behaved? She didn’t quarrel with you, throw insults and toys at you! She left the room so you wouldn’t even see her cry! That’s good behavior!
The son nodded, thinking about his sister’s actions.
– What are you going to do now?
The son nodded as if he understood and went to the bathroom door with his head down and knocked. His crying daughter opened the door.
– I was the fool, not you. I’m sorry for hurting you. If you want, you can hit me back.
The little sister smiled at her brother and hugged him, then suggested that they continue playing.
