My husband and I made a very big mistake when we bought our son William a studio before we got married. We should have bought a studio apartment, but with a kitchen. Our son William is 25 years old. He got married last year. Six months before the wedding, we bought him and his husband a studio. And then three months ago, William’s son was born.
After that, he came to visit us every night. His wife knows nothing about it. Kate thinks William just gets home so late from work. He comes home at ten o’clock at night. But in fact he works until five o’clock. At home, he eats, sleeps, and plays a little on the computer.
On the one hand, I feel really bad for Kate: because she’s alone all day with the baby. But at the same time I feel sorry for my son: he works and doesn’t get enough sleep. My grandson is very nervous and doesn’t sleep very well. As soon as he falls asleep, Kate and William are afraid to talk at all and are even afraid to turn on the light.
As soon as William opens the refrigerator, the grandson immediately wakes up. And then he needs to be rocked in his arms for a very long time. My sister-in-law, of course, is to blame for this herself. After all, she is the one who taught the boy to sleep only in her arms and in complete silence.
When I was raising William, it was different. When William slept, no one was quiet. When William came home, Kate very often didn’t even have time to make a meal. But at least my son has a chance to eat properly and get some rest. I tried to help my daughter-in-law, but she refused. She said she didn’t need my help.
Then I offered to help your sister-in-law again a month later, but she turned me down again. That’s why I don’t even try to help my sister-in-law now. I’m just trying to make my son’s life easier. He should be able to have at least some normal rest after work…
