Viaducto Tiradentes, located on Avenida Silva Só, in Porto Alegre, is where it all happened. And Toquinho, an 8-year-old paraplegic dog, was chosen to be the main attraction, receiving a painting in his honor.
Toquinho is a celebrity with more than 96,000 followers on his Instagram profile and helps engage charitable causes that support other animals with special needs, in addition to being the protagonist of a campaign to donate wheelchairs for canines, the Projeto car seats . According to Mariana Brino, veterinarian and tutor at Toquinho, 15 car seats have already been donated.
The puppy was abandoned in the clinic where the guardian works, despite the surgeries to try to stabilize his spine with plates, since he was broken in half, Toquinho never recovered the movements of his hind legs. The guardian does not know how he was injured and is currently in a wheelchair.
A representative of the group in charge of revitalizing the Viaduct explained the tribute: “I think, above all, a veterinary hospital represents that: love, care, respect and inclusion. That’s why we set out to bring it to real life and paint it,” Roberta Reis told G1.
The viaduct opens on February 19, along with an animal adoption fair. Otoquinho quickly went viral for the stylish photo. If you want to see more of this little dog go on Toquinho’s Instagram, visit @otoquinho.
