The Parable: “Three Views on One Situation”
One day, three women stood at a market stall piled with apples.
The first sighed wearily:
“Look how small and bruised they are—yet priced like gold! You can’t find anything decent anymore. The world’s gone to the dogs…”
The second smiled warmly:
“But I see this year’s harvest as a real blessing. The weather’s been unforgiving, yet these apples—though imperfect—are juicy. The growers must have worked hard.”
The third, without a word, pulled out her purse:
“My grandson at home is poorly. He adores baked apples. He couldn’t care less how they look—only that they’re made with love.”
The lesson?
We each see the world through our own story.
To one, it’s just a basket of bad apples.
To another, a chance to honor someone’s labor.
And to another, a way to show tenderness and care.
Before you judge, ask yourself:
From what place in your heart does your gaze begin?
