They Were Expecting Their Own Baby, So They Decided They No Longer Needed the Baby from the Orphanage

Oliver sat quietly in the corner, tears streaming down his cheeks. He just couldnt make sense of what hed done wrong. Why had his mum and dad left him behind at the childrens home? All his life, Oliver had done his best to please them and had always loved them dearly.

His birth mother had left him in hospital after he was born. Not long after, Sarah and Richard adopted him. They couldnt have children of their own and so they brought him home from the orphanage. But Richard struggled to grow fond of Oliver, always feeling he wasnt truly his son and would never be. Sarah, on the other hand, adored the boy, showering him with affection and care, though she could never quite settle into the role of mum.

Years slipped by. Oliver grew up as part of the family, his heart brimming with love for his parents. One day, Sarah discovered she was expecting. She was thrilled and overjoyed. When she broke the news to Richard, both of them were beside themselves with happiness.

After that, Oliver seemed invisible to them. He became a nuisance; everything he did got on their nerves. Richard started lashing out at him. The two no longer had room in their lives for Oliverthey were finished playing the part of mum and dad to him. Eventually, they decided to send him back to the orphanage. They signed away their parental rights, and through court proceedings, their adoption was annulled.

After the final hearing, Sarah came up to Oliver and told him, with barely a glance, that hed be returning to the childrens home. Crying desperately, Oliver called after her, Mummy! But she just turned away and left. Only five years old, Oliver had once again been let down by the very people he cherished. Hed been deserted twice: first by the mother whod given birth to him, and now by his adoptive parents.

The judge presiding over the case watched the whole scene with a heavy heart. Afterwards, she approached the childrens home carer and quietly announced she intended to adopt Oliver herself. She simply couldnt bear to see such a trusting boy broken so many times. The judgeher name was Catherinemanaged to sort out the paperwork swiftly, and soon brought Oliver to her own home.

From the very first day, Catherine called him lovingly, Ollie, and it didnt take long before Oliver grew devoted to her, his memories of the past fading away. As the years passed, Oliver excelled at school. He finished secondary school with top marks, then gained admission to medical school. After graduation, he landed a job at a respected clinic.

One day, a patient arrived whose face immediately took Oliver back. It was Richard, his first adoptive father. Richard shared that his wife had died in childbirth; their baby was born still, and afterwards hed fallen into drink. It was only after meeting Linda, who helped him turn his life around and seek treatment, that he regained control.

Thats how Richard came to see Oliver again. Although Oliver was still quite young, he vividly recalled the hurt Richard had caused him. Yet he remembered his pledge as a doctor and did his best to help the man. In the end, fate had treated Richard and Sarah harshlyeveryone knows you mustnt mistreat orphans. Oliver chose forgiveness instead of revenge: life had already repaid them with more than enough sorrow.
