When I came home from work, I saw my son packing, his clothes were packed in a suitcase, he was going somewhere. I didn’t know anything; I asked him where he was going. He said that he and Anna, his beloved girl, would live together. But he was only 20 years old, where would he get the money to live independently?
He and his girlfriend had no scholarship or job, and renting an apartment was not cheap. The son said that he had a small amount of money, which would be enough for a few months, and then he would be hired and live like that. The son said that he loves his girlfriend very much and it is normal when young people live apart from their parents. I was really upset, but I did not say anything to my son; I let him get ready and live as he wanted.
Soon my husband came, who was also shocked by what he saw, but I calmed him down and explained the situation. We did not want to argue with our son: let him do what he wanted. He is already an adult.
More than two weeks passed, and my son did not even call, my husband forbade me to call him. Suddenly one evening the phone rang, it was my son, I could finally hear his voice. But what I heard was a shock for me.
He said that he needed to pay for the second semester of university. He hadn’t called for almost a month, and now, without asking how we were doing, whether we were alive, he just asked if I would pay for his studies. And I answered that I will not:
– You left us, and wanted to live independently and freely, now solve your problems yourself.
He did not even listen to me and turned off the phone.
After some time, I decided to repair the house a little, because we had the money we had saved for my son’s education. However, it was hard without my son, but life goes on. I got used to not having a son, sometimes I missed him and regretted it.
Once, my son called and said that he really wanted to come home. It turned out that the girl he lived with stole all his money and left the city with another guy. The son left the university for two weeks to earn money. As soon as he had enough money, he went to classes, and when he returned, he saw that Anna had stolen all the money. It was a pity, but it was a good lesson for him.
