The most painful thing that happened to me in 2025 was learning that my wife had been unfaithful to meand that my brother, my cousin, and my father knew all along.

Wed been married eleven years. The woman my wife was involved with worked as a secretary at the firm where my brother is employed. Their affair began after my brother introduced them. This wasnt a coincidence. They bumped into each other at work, at meetings, at business events, and social gatherings my wife attended. My cousin also saw them together in the same circles. Everyone was acquainted. They saw each other regularly.

For months, my wife carried on as if nothing was amiss. I went to family gatherings, chatted with my brother, cousin, and father, completely unaware that all three were fully aware of her affair. Not one of them warned me, not one breathed a word. No one attempted to prepare me for what was happening behind my back.

When I discovered the affair in October, I confronted my wife first, and she admitted everything. Then I had it out with my brother. I asked directly if hed known. He said he had. I asked him how long hed known. He told me, A few months. I asked why hed never told me. He said it wasnt his concern, that it was a matter between a couple, and that men dont discuss these things.

I then spoke to my cousin, asked him the same. He confirmed he knew as well. Hed seen the messages, the behaviour, and the way they interactedit was obvious to him. When I asked why he hadnt warned me, he shrugged it off, saying he didnt want to get involved or cause trouble, and that he had no right to interfere in someone elses marriage.

Finally, I spoke to my father. Asked if he knew. He said he did. I asked how longhe said A long time. I asked why hed kept silent, and he said he didnt want conflict, that these things should be sorted privately between a husband and wife, and he wasnt going to interfere. In truth, all three of them gave me the same answer.

After that, I moved out of our house and put it up for sale. There were no scenes or shouting matches; I refused to lower myself to that level over anyone. The woman continued working at my brothers company. My brother, cousin, and father kept up their usual relationships with both her and my wife.

For Christmas and New Years, my mum invited me to theirs, where my brother, cousin, and father would also celebrate. I told her I couldnt come. I explained that I wasn’t able to sit at the table with people who had known about the betrayal and kept quiet. They celebrated together. I wasnt there for either holiday.

Since October, I havent spoken to any of the three. I dont think Ill ever be able to forgive them.
