Adam was in a hurry to get home from work. His wife told him the good news – he would soon become a father. His wife prepared a festive dinner. The man’s joy knew no bounds. They had been trying to get pregnant for seven long years. Adam went to a jewelry store and bought his wife a ring and a large bouquet of flowers.
He ran to his wife, but she suddenly felt sick, so she went to bed without even having dinner. Adam wanted to call an ambulance, but his wife said it would pass. He was by her side all the time. His wife’s pregnancy was not easy. However, time passed quickly.
The day of delivery came. The husband nervously walked the corridor, waiting for the good news to come out and tell him. Finally, he was told that his daughter was born. The delivery was difficult, the child’s condition is satisfactory, but there is one problem – the girl has problems with her legs, but this can be corrected with surgery. However, it can only be done abroad.
– “Your wife has written a letter of abandonment,” the nurse said.
Adam could not believe it. His wife didn’t want to talk to anyone, she was lying still, facing the wall. Adam wanted to convince his wife not to do this, because this tiny girl was not to blame. Then his wife’s parents came into the room, and they began to insist that Adam also write a letter of renunciation. They said they would have other healthy children.
The man left the hospital. At home, he packed all his wife’s things and threw them out the door. He went to the shops, bought a cradle, a stroller, and the sellers helped him find the necessary clothes for the baby. Adam picked up his daughter from the hospital and took maternity leave. He worked from home at night. At first, it was hard to cope with the child alone. The man looked for all possible ways to save his daughter.
In February, his life, like the lives of all Ukrainians, was turned upside down. But he couldn’t wait, so on the advice of local doctors he found a clinic that could help his little girl get back on her feet for free. So he and his daughter went abroad for treatment. Their doctor turned out to be a truly highly qualified and compassionate woman. She was also a Ukrainian. Many years ago, she went to Poland for an internship and stayed there to work. She saved the lives of many children. It was painful for her to watch children suffer because of the recent events in her native country. She promised Adam that his daughter would be like everyone else and would definitely run.
Since then, Adam and this woman, Rebecca, began to see each other almost every day. The man realized that he felt much more than gratitude for this woman. He did not want to part with her, even though Rebecca was eight years older than him. The woman also had a heart for the girl and Adam. So they started living together.
The little girl got back on her feet. And now the girl has a full-fledged, loving family.
