Melissa married Jack a year ago, and the relationship seemed cloudless. Meanwhile, just recently, an unpleasant truth was revealed, which put the existence of their family in jeopardy.
When the couple met, Jack honestly admitted that he was already married. With his ex-wife, they did not meet in character, and they decided that it would be better to say goodbye. Melissa didn’t mind: after all, the past is the past, and everyone has it. Even if it was Melissa’s first marriage, who cares? Especially since Jack had no children in his first marriage, and she was sure that he would be the father of her baby.
Jack assured that he hadn’t spoken to his first wife in a long time. According to him, as soon as they separated he stopped communicating with her and did not even mention her name when talking to his new wife. Melissa had absolutely no worries about it, until one day an unpleasant story happened.
One day she had to make an urgent call to work. Her phone ran out of juice, so she picked up her husband’s cell phone. No sooner had Melissa finished talking than a message popped up on the screen. She was thanking the man for his help, addressing him in a playful manner. The girl was dumbfounded: first, there were no women with that name among her husband’s relatives, and secondly, who was this person, who was written in the phone book in such an affectionate form?
– Darling, how do you want to understand it? – Melissa asked, barely able to contain her resentment. – Who is she?
Jack did not deny it and immediately admitted that it was his ex-wife. It turned out that they kept in touch and did not lose contact, despite the divorce.
– Explain to me, please, why you need to communicate with a man with whom you are no longer connected? – Melissa asked.
Her husband answered that they were just friends, and there was nothing to worry about. When Melissa asked why he had kept this from her before, her husband replied that he just didn’t want to upset her.
– What can you even talk about if you have nothing in common, and not even children? What common topics can you talk about?
– Melissa, she is not a stranger to me! After all, we were married, and we parted amicably, – explained his husband. He said he often helps his ex-wife with money or help around the house, because the woman lives alone.
At first Melissa tried to put up with it, but then she noticed how often her ex-wife asked for help. Now she needs to build a new closet, now to look why the gas stove is malfunctioning, now to fix the light in the kitchen. And about a couple of times a week spouse goes to help the man who, for all intents and purposes, should have remained in the past.
– You probably share a bed together, too, don’t you? Do you give her “help” there, too? – Melissa had gone out of her way once. – Too often she invites you to her place.

…realized she couldn’t go on and her husband would have to choose between her and her ex-wife.
– I am not satisfied with your communication, so we will have to decide something. Think hard about what you want. Either you leave the past in the past, or we end the relationship in which there is a third wheel! – Melissa made a condition.
To her surprise, her husband did not give a straight answer, and the girl moved in with her parents. Her mother is sure that Melissa has nothing to worry about, and even less to condition Jack if she doesn’t want to lose him, but Melissa has a different opinion. She’s convinced that a man and a woman who once shared a bed can’t be “just friends,” so she’s against having an ex-spouse in Jack’s life. If the family didn’t work out, then something was wrong and there’s no point in communicating, and since the husband and his ex hold on to each other, it’s not out of the question to reconnect. If Jack doesn’t stop communicating with his ex, Melissa is ready to file for divorce and boldly end this strange relationship.
