My mother-in-law has a very bad habit. Since the day we got married, she could come to our house any day without warning. I didn’t like it before, but now I can’t stand it anymore. The fact is that my daughter is 1 year old and my husband and I have already accustomed her to the regimen and she goes to bed at 9 pm. Child psychologists confirm that the regimen is good for the child and it leaves me time for some personal activities. But my mother-in-law doesn’t care. She comes to us before I have to put my daughter to bed. And I was embarrassed to kick her out.
She justified her late arrivals by saying that she was late at work. My husband’s mother was playing with her granddaughter, making her laugh, and then I spent several hours with my daughter, who did not go to bed on time.
And once again, my daughter fell asleep at 8:40 p.m., and 20 minutes later my mother-in-law came home. She began to wake my daughter up, cheer her up, and then the perfect plan came to me. I pretended that someone had called me, and then asked my mother-in-law to look after my granddaughter while my husband and I went to help my friend because something serious had happened to her.
My mother-in-law agreed, so I grabbed my husband and we quickly left the apartment.
– “What’s going on?” my husband asked excitedly on the way.
– “Don’t worry, we’re just going to the movies, we wanted to relax, and your mom will look after your daughter!” I answered and smiled, and my husband also understood my plan and laughed.
We returned home at about 12 midnight. My daughter was sleeping in the children’s room, and my mother-in-law was sitting on a chair next to her. Children’s toys, a bottle of milk, and even diapers were scattered around the room. The mother-in-law’s new sweater was very wet… It seems that after that she realized her mistake, so she never came to visit us so late, and if she did, she looked at her granddaughter silently and did not wake her up.
