She filed for divorce. My mother opened my eyes to the fact that it was all because my wife wanted to take away half of my apartment!

I love and respect my mother very much, so when I registered her as the owner of our apartment with my wife, I never thought that my Maria would be so offended.

I am convinced that I did the right thing, but Maria thinks otherwise. She never tires of repeating that in our apartment she feels like a part of the decor, which is sometimes remembered and used when necessary. But when I ask her to do something, she just keeps repeating that she has her own things to do or is tired.

I don’t understand this. We are married, which means that everyone has their own responsibilities, which they should fulfill, and not refuse “because they are tired.”

In my opinion, if a wife is really good, she should do absolutely everything her husband says. If I am the one who earns money in the family, then she should do the housework. Lately, she has started making stupid excuses. We have an electric stove and she says she can’t cook because the electricity was turned off. I think she could have made something up, because I know for sure that my mother would have moved mountains, but she would not have left my father hungry.

Since childhood, I lived in a clean environment, as my mother raised me, so now I am annoyed that my wife can leave things out of place… Is it really so hard to clean up when you are at home?

I have made all the important decisions in my life together with my mother, because I am sure that she is an experienced, wise woman who, most importantly, wishes me all the best. Although I also love my wife, I cannot trust her that much, because she is still a stranger to me and may want me to make a decision that will benefit her!

That’s why I also decided to register the apartment with my mother. I am sure that she will never kick us out or do anything bad, but my wife can easily leave me or cheat on me, and then why would I share an apartment with her? I understand that my wife and her parents also gave me money for the apartment, but it is a much smaller amount than the amount my mother gave me after we sold the dacha. We can assume that they paid for their daughter’s long-term residence here.

My mom is the most important person in my life. I know that she has devoted her entire life to making me who I am, so I will be grateful to her for the rest of my life.

The money that her parents gave us and we were saving for an apartment, I took to buy an apartment that I registered in my mother’s name. My wife was very outraged by this, because I did not consult her. At the end of the argument, she was screaming that I bought the apartment for my mother, not for us. In my opinion, she should have been happy, because now we don’t have to pay rent and can spend it on something else.

Her main argument is that she is a nobody in this apartment and I can just kick her out. I explain to her that I’m not going to kick her out, because we are building a family, planning children.

In the end, I realized that she was not worried about being thrown out, but simply wanted to get half of her mother’s apartment. My mother had long ago told me to be careful with Maria, because she immediately noticed that the girl only wanted my money. My wife earned very little, so she decided to make money off me.

We lived in misunderstanding for two more years, and Maria filed for divorce. I started to blame myself, but fortunately, my mother quickly explained to me that my wife realized that I wouldn’t give her half of the apartment, so she left. So much for the mercantilism of a modern woman! It’s good that I have a mom who opened my eyes in time!
