Rose was always held by the hand, even walked to and from school. But one day, when she was 15, her mother found something in her bag that made her hair stand on end.

Rose was the only child in the family. And the only granddaughter on both sides. Can you imagine the love and care she was surrounded with? From the first days, one sneeze, the slightest redness on the body and her parents called a doctor. They already hated them, apparently, so often they disturbed them on trifles. The child had not yet learned to speak, as the whole family set a goal to develop it.

To her credit, Rose turned out to be a talented child. She succeeded in everything. From the age of four, the child was individually engaged in vocals, chess, ballet, and there was a teacher who prepared the child for school. It was out of the question to send the child to kindergarten. Why? How many people will he meet there? There could be so many that the mother would not worry. No, everyone unanimously decided to protect the child from the harmful influence from the outside.

Even on the playground, they carefully chose her friends. The family admired Rose’s success so much that the child was sure of her exclusivity. At school, this confidence was a little shaken. Of course, everything was fine with her studies, because everything was easy for her. But Rose had to learn to build relationships with her peers, which required some flexibility, and this was exactly what she lacked. Teachers repeatedly asked her parents to explain to Rose that arrogance and contempt are not the best way to make friends.

Parents did not care: the fewer friends, the better. But they could not keep the child in isolation from society forever. When the girl was in the fifth grade, her mother decided that Rose was old enough and she could go to work part-time. The family was worried – Rose should be left unattended for some time! Now wait for the disaster.

Rose really started to quietly fight back. She had some terrible words in her speech. The music she listened to shocked her parents. And it was becoming increasingly difficult to communicate with her. Scandals in the family were becoming the norm.

And at the age of fifteen Rose came home for the first time at midnight. Her furious mother went out into the corridor and smelled cigarettes. She snatched the bag from Rose’s hands and shook out all the contents on the floor. Among other things, cigarettes, cosmetics, etc. fell out of the bag. Do you think Rose was embarrassed? Not at all. After receiving a slap, she said that she would leave the house if it happened again.

They say children fight back because they don’t get enough love and attention from their families. In this family, there was plenty of attention, but the child still fought back. Maybe later everything will settle down, but I do not understand why this did not happen before. How did the parents manage to maintain their authority?
