Alright, replied Emily, as she dashed off to the kitchen to grab her phone. After sending a quick text, she returned to the living room. That was the moment when Simon became even more certain in his suspicions that his wife was cheating on him. She never seemed bothered when he went out with his mates or was away on work trips. She didnt fuss when he stumbled in after too many pints at the pub. All his friends kept telling him she was one in a million, truly rare, and theres no catch whatsoever. He’s eight years older than Emily. What if she had found someone younger and more exciting? Maybe she wasnt interested anymore. At least Simon was smart enough to keep all his suspicions to himself. Simon went off on a business trip, feeling quite grumpy. Even Emily noticed his mood and was nearly ready to offer him some medicine. Well, that’s hardly ideal, but everyones got their little quirks, Simon reassured himself. He sped through all the recordings, and didnt spot anything strange. Just gaming and housework, nothing else. Most importantly, not a single other person had been in their flat the whole time.
He closed his laptop and let out a breath. Now he only felt bad for ever suspecting Emily. So Simon decided to buy her a massive bouquet of roses and plan a lovely dinner for the two of them.
