During severe flooding, a wild lynx was swept into a swollen river and began to struggle in the current. Local emergency responders were quickly alerted and raced to the scene, pulling the creature from the water.
Once the lynx had been moved to safety, it was sedated by experts and released carefully back into the countryside where it belonged.
Given the animals weakened condition, it had little hope of surviving on its own; it would most likely have been preyed upon or fallen victim to another threat. By rescuing and relocating the lynx, they gave it a second chance at life it otherwise wouldnt have had.
