Raising a child is a whole science, and if the child is also adopted, then you will have to put all the efforts to the maximum in order to achieve a successful outcome. However, the ending of such stories is not always happy. Not every adult is able to educate a child from an orphanage. Maria heard a lot about the difficulties parents face in raising troubled teens, but she did not believe everything.
The girl has been married to her beloved husband for more than three years. Right after graduation, she met the handsome Philip and immediately fell in love with all her heart. The guy turned out to be loving, caring and at every opportunity presented the girl with flowers or a small package of her favorite chocolates. At first they lived in a communal apartment, but then they rented a two-room apartment not far from the city center. Years flew by unnoticed, and the couple thought of having children of their own, but for some reason it did not work out. The girl repeatedly went to specialists, but they just silently shook their hands. They did not find any pathology in Maria. With each passing day the girl became more and more saddened. Philip had also been thinking about having a baby for a long time.
If a girl were born, he would certainly give it to dance club, and if a son – he would teach her to play soccer or enrolled in the wrestling section. The young family was in contemplation for a long time. Day by day dreams of a child ate away at their thoughts. Kolya decided to offer to take the baby out of the orphanage. Maria was at first embarrassed by such a proposal, but then gave the okay. The couple started to find out what documents they would need to take the baby out of the orphanage. When everything was ready, they began to visit different institutions and get to know the children. The procedure was not an easy one.
At one of the orphanages, the administrator suggested that they adopt a girl, Angelica. She was barely four years old. According to the orphanage staff, she was different from all the others by her special demeanor. The little girl had a strong character that combined leadership qualities. Her eyes were big, blue, and seemed to have a sly look, long brown hair and dark skin.
They wanted to take the girl away several times, but then refused her adoption without reason or explanation. Maria immediately noticed the girl and decided that she would talk at home with her husband and give a clear answer. The next day Philip took the baby home. From the looks of it Angelica looked calm and pretty.
But as it turned out, the first impression was deceptive. Angelica was an unbearable child with a crazy temper. She was rude and sassy to her foster parents. Maria used different methods in her upbringing. At first the woman showed “hyper” care and tenderness, but the girl did not perceive such emotions. The golden rule of the “whip” sometimes had an effect on the little girl. True, it did not last long.
After a while Angelica again turned into an intolerable defiant girl who constantly showed her discontent, manipulated and thrown tantrums. Constant quarrels and scandals in the family forced the girl to see a psychologist. The woman advised to be patient, because the child is going through a process of adaptation, and it is not easy for Angelica too, because Mary and Philip are actually strangers to her.
After the visit of the specialist, Maria began to discuss with Filip what to do next. Constant complaints about Angelica’s behavior came from the kindergarten. Not only the parents of the other children, but also the teachers themselves were indignant. Time passed, and the child did not even want to change her behavior. The girl still didn’t listen to her parents and didn’t respect them. Maria decided to talk to her husband, and it turned out that the idea to take the child from the orphanage did not come to the man himself. A colleague at work advised to resort to this option, because he knew how much Philip wanted a child. True, according to the employee, raising foster children is many times more difficult than raising one’s own.
In such cases, over time, genetic heredity manifests itself, so the child from a calm baby may well turn into a hateful, screaming creature that cannot be brought up humanly. As a rule, difficult children like Angelica are best off within the walls of children’s shelters. At least until the moment of deeper maturation and the realization that in life they will have to fight and take the surrounding reality, even if harsh, for granted, because being abandoned is hurtful and painful.
Marina, after long conversations with Philip, made the decision to take the girl back. No matter how much the young couple did not want a child, to rehabilitate someone else’s turned out to be much more difficult. Not every difficult task is for adults and responsible people, and not all the hopes for a brighter future are justified.
What would you do if you were a young couple?
