Philip and Abigail seemed to get along quite nicely as a couple, but there was a glaring issue: financial imbalance. Philip was forever splashing out on himselfbuying expensive trainers and heading to the barbers for fresh fadeswhile Abigail was careful, saving her pennies and cutting her hair in the bathroom mirror. She contributed a decent chunk to the household budget, but Philip hardly gave her efforts a second thought.
One afternoon, Abigail asked Philip to help her lug a telly to her mums house. While Philip was waiting outside the loo, he overheard Abigail chatting to her mum, revealing that shed bought a flat in the heart of Manchester without uttering a word to him. Philip was livid, demanding an explanation.
Abigail claimed shed borrowed the cash from her cousin, but Philip wasn’t convinced. He grilled the cousin, who just laughed and told him he ought to ask his wife about all these mysteries. When Philip pressed Abigail again, she switched her story, saying shed borrowed the money from her sister this time. Feeling let down and betrayed, Philip handed down an ultimatum: she either paid him half the value of the flat, or they’d call it quits.
Abigail didnt hesitateshe agreed to the split, and off they went their separate ways. Now Abigail lives with her mum in a spanking new two-bedroom flat she bought herself. This tale goes to show: when communication and trust fly out the window, its only a matter of time before the whole relationship packs its bags too.
