A little dog had to deal with the sad news of his owner’s death. He never imagined that after that his own family would turn their back on him.
Osito’s owner passed away trusting that her family would take care of him, he got sick and was abandoned.
It is sad to think that, although our pets show us all the love and loyalty in the world, there are people who are capable of abandoning them when they need it most.
This is what happened to Osito, a little dog who, after mourning the death of his owner, was abandoned by his family. Not only did he have to deal with the pain of losing his beloved owner, but he also suffered as his family neglected him over time. His former owner thought that her family would take care of Osito when she was gone, but after her death, her family stopped feeding him and left him outdoors for hours. As time went by, Osito began to develop an abscess that caused him a lot of pain.
But apparently, Osito’s odyssey was not over yet. The neglect of his family reached such a point that he ended up lost in the streets. Being a homemade dog, he didn’t know how to defend himself and ended up being attacked by other stray dogs. Osito was giving up, the only person who had really loved him was no longer with him. It was then that a miracle happened. A group of rescuers from Fundación Amigos Animalistas A.C., from Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico, found him and decided to give him a second chance. They took him to the veterinarian for immediate attention and the results of his tests were not very encouraging.
In addition to the lump growing on his leg, his platelets were very low, he tested positive for hemoparasites and was suffering from acute anemia. But luckily, he received immediate medical attention. Moreover, Osito was so well-behaved that he allowed himself to undergo all his treatments in such a docile and gentle manner that everyone at the foundation was delighted with his company. After an operation to remove the abscess, Osito was ready to find a family that would give him all the love he was willing to give.
In the end, every cloud has a silver lining. And although Osito’s family didn’t appreciate him, he was finally able to find a home where everyone loves him dearly. Osito moved to a big farm and now has 3 doggy siblings with whom he can play and roll around in the grass. It is sad to note the lack of empathy and responsibility of his former family who decided to abandon him even though they knew he needed them. However, although this story has a happy ending, it is still worrying because it speaks of a reality in which many puppies end up.
If you can no longer or do not want to take care of your pet, it is better to help it find a home where it is loved and avoid abandoning it to its own fate. It is unfair to these creatures that love us so much and end up suffering because of our own decisions.
