Online dating, or the story of how I felt like a sheep

I rarely correspond online with strangers, but this time I changed my rule.

On a work day in the middle of my shift, I got a notification on my phone. Some pretty girl had left me a message on social media. I was sure it wasn’t fake, since the page was “live.” She wrote that she liked me and wanted to get to know me better. I was surprised, because I was just a normal guy and she was just all of herself. And suddenly I was the one she liked, it was me she wrote. Girls rarely write first, and here such a surprise.

It was very easy and pleasant to communicate with her. We corresponded for a few days and I decided to call her. Only she did not pick up the phone. She was busy, or had forgotten her phone at home, or had a dead battery.

I offered to meet. She agreed at once. All that was left was to wait for this meeting.

I took care of my business and rushed to the restaurant where we were to meet. I drank my coffee, as I arrived before the agreed time, and began to wait for my girlfriend. Time passed, and she was in no hurry. Her phone didn’t answer. When I went to the website to write her a message, I saw that she had blocked me.

It took me a long time to figure out what the point of this behavior was. I had wasted my time, why would I have agreed to a date? It is still a mystery to me, but I felt like a real sheep. I have had a taboo on internet dating ever since.

There is no morality in this story. Just don’t fall for stupid tricks like I did. Learn from my mistakes so you don’t fall into the “sheep” category.
