My sister and I wanted to go on vacation to the sea. We booked a hotel and bought train tickets. Our seats were in the same compartment on the top and bottom shelf. It seemed that this trip should be perfect, but our mood was spoiled quite quickly. An elderly woman entered the carriage, who immediately put us in front of the fact that we should give her the seat at the bottom. She quickly moved from words to actions and sat on my legs to make me stand up as quickly as possible.
I understand everything, but my comfort has always been a priority for me. That’s why I took care of the tickets in advance to travel the way it would be convenient for me. Of course, it will not be easy for an elderly person on the top shelf, but should I worry about it? In my opinion, this is solely the problem of the old lady or those who saved on her tickets and bought a cheaper seat.
As soon as the old woman heard the categorical refusal, she raised a real scandal. She called the conductor, who could do nothing, because I did not break the law in any way.
Still, the woman tried to persuade me to give in, saying that I should respect older people. But I was not going to follow someone’s lead, so I calmly refused. The head of the train had to find a way out of the conflict. He found a free shelf for my grandmother in another carriage. This means that there were still free seats, so the old woman tried to save money by manipulating the kind hearts of other people.
Eventually the train started moving. After a while, my sister sat down next to me and said:
– You are so brave! I would have given in silently long ago…
I believe that I am right in this situation. I paid money for the place, so why should I suffer? Let everyone be responsible for themselves, and not try to cheat and profit from others.
