My stepfather is kicking me out of my parents’ house. The most frustrating thing is that my own mother is on his side.

I am 21 years old. Five years ago my mother brought her second husband into our house. I didn’t like him from the first minute. He worked as a janitor. He showed up at our door with two suitcases, but immediately started bossing me around and bringing me up. Disgusting guy. I don’t know what my mother saw in him. He has a miserable salary and pays alimony to his ex-wife. I never got along with him. In the beginning I kept quiet. But then I started fighting with him. After graduating high school I entered medical school on a budget.

Ever since childhood I dreamed of becoming a doctor. I try to study well, although studying at medical school is quite difficult. I even get a scholarship. Six months ago this guy started reproaching me for sitting on their necks: “You’re an adult, but you’re sitting on your mother’s neck, we should not support you, we feed you, dress you, put on shoes; by the way, I was already working at your age. He started reproaching me for not bringing money home. According to him, I had to get a job and help them, because there wasn’t enough money. And the worst thing is that my mother supports him, says that he is right, trying to educate me, to put me on the right path.

My mother told me: “You could get a part-time job, it’s hard for us to provide for you, we’re not made of iron”. Two days ago in the evening this guy said that adults, that grown-up children should live separately from their parents. I was surprised and looked at my mother. She was silent, so she agreed with him.

I went to my room. The next day my mother started talking about yesterday: “It’s very difficult for me, I’m facing a choice. We fight all the time. You make scandals and you can’t keep your mouth shut. I want to live my life in peace. He’s right, you’re an adult and you should live separately. You have a month to find a place to live and leave. I’m shocked. I never thought my mother would decide to get rid of me. I will never forgive her.
