My Sister Wants Me to Move Out of Our Shared Flat Because She’s Expecting a Baby—Is It Really Fair f…

So, let me tell you whats been going onhonestly, its left me a bit baffled. Ages ago, Mum and Dad bought a two-bedroom flat for me and my sister. They always said that one day, when we were older, wed probably sell it and split it so wed each end up with our own little placea one-bed flat each or something.

Anyway, fast forward a few years, and my sister, Charlotte, met this bloke called Tom, and now theyre married. After the wedding, she asked if Id mind them moving in with me in our flat, and I said yesit felt right and they needed a bit of a leg up.

At first, it worked out fine. It was almost enjoyable having all the company. But then Charlotte found out she was pregnant, and everything changed. Suddenly, she and Tom started going on about me moving out so the baby could have my room. Mind you, they didnt just askthey began planning as if it was guaranteed, talking about what colour theyd paint my bedroom and where the cot would go, as if I was no longer living there. Its like I stopped existing in their minds.

Thing is, I own half the placeIve got just as much right to that flat as my sister does. And its not as if I have loads of options; Im still at uni, living off my student loan and working a part-time job in a café. Theres no way I could afford rent on my own, not with London prices! They first tried being subtle about me moving, but now theyve started openly telling me to leave. Its honestly rather hurtful.

I told Mum and Dad about it, and Mum just laughed it off and said, Oh, thats what pregnant women are like, itll blow over. She told me not to take any notice of what Charlotte says. But, honestly, how am I meant to ignore it when I feel like Im being pushed out of my own home nearly every single day?

Now I feel like a stranger in the place Ive called home for years. And Charlotte, she just keeps goingnever once thinking she might be a bit out of order. I really dont know what to do at this point. What would you do?
