My sister and I help our mother with money and food, and our sister takes the last of it from her. I got tired of it and told Monika everything I thought about her. Now my mom is also offended by us

There were three of us in the family: me, Anna and Monika. It was immediately noticeable that my mother loved our youngest sister Monika more. She has a difficult temperament. And her husband is the same. They did not allow us to live in peace, could not get along with either mom or us.

Monika always came to my mother alone. She complained about her husband, that he was always in trouble and she was tired of his whims. The man is always demanding something from Monica, and he is not even able to earn money for new clothes. Monika has no time for anything, she has a house and children to take care of. Her sister tells her mother, and she feels sorry for her. Then she gives away almost everything from the house – vegetables, milk, cheese, sour cream, canned food. She also puts money from her pension in her pocket. Even though she has very little herself.

My sister and I try to be understanding about this, because Monika is not a stranger to us. Several years have passed, Monika’s children have grown up, but nothing has changed in her life. My sister and I always help our mother with money, buy her necessary medicines and food. If something needs to be done – planting in the garden or digging up potatoes – we always help our mother. Meanwhile, Monika will come, cry, take the bags and money, and come back home again. My mother will once again rake the last of her money out of her pockets, take all the food from the refrigerator shelves because she feels sorry for her daughter.

I was frankly annoyed by this. One day I decided to talk to my sister:
– “If your husband is such a bad man, why are you still with him? Your children are not small anymore, there is no need to suffer. File for divorce and live in peace. Leave your mother alone. Let her live a normal life in her old age. She doesn’t have a penny except for her pension. She eats one potato and gives you everything. Cheese, sausage, cookies. And money too. How long can this go on?

Anna also supported me in this. We immediately told her that if Monika ever took anything from her mother, she could forget about us. I thought Monika would finally get a grip on her head. But she came up with another plan. She moved to live with her mom. She explained that she listened to us and left her husband. Now she’s back in her own home.

I was just shocked. The apartment where my sister still lived with her husband belongs to me and Anna. Our grandmother left it to us when Monika was not even born yet. At first I lived there… Then Anna lived there until she and her husband built their own house. Later, Monika and her family moved there. Although they are all registered there, this apartment belongs to us.

Monika decided to take our advice and filed for divorce. She decided to leave the apartment to her children, because they are not young anymore and do not want to live in the village. Monika mentioned that she also had a share in her parents’ house. In a short time, her sister quickly turned her mother against us. She decided to sell the house in the village and buy an apartment.

Without hesitation, I immediately dialed Anna’s number. We decided to bring my sister back to the family. I had to think of something like that. To get a divorce! On the way, we explained to her that we were going to sell the apartment where she lived with the children, so now they should think about where to live. We also warned Monika not to set foot near her mother again. She is more harm than good. As long as her mother is alive, no one will sell her house.

We haven’t heard from my sister for three weeks. I want to believe that she understood everything. My family condemns my sister and me. My mom is offended. She says we have harmed her poor daughter. But I think that we have tolerated my sister for a long time, and it was time to put her in her place. I hope that over time Monika will realize her mistakes.
