When my sister Victoria and I were studying, our parents earned very well, especially my father. My parents saved money and when we graduated, my dad and mom already had money saved to buy me and my sister a one-room apartment. And then Victoria wanted to open her own business, she talked to her parents for a long time and they gave half of the money, so the money that her parents had saved for her apartment, her sister took. And when I got married and came to my parents for the money, my mom and dad told me to wait a little bit, because if my sister’s business does not succeed, the money will have to be divided between us, because they can not leave their daughter without housing. I was surprised, but decided to wait.
My husband and I began to live in a rented apartment. Later Victoria got married. At first, their business was going well, they earned good money, my sister opened her own shop, and then something went wrong, Victoria took one loan, another, a lot of debts accumulated and the business had to be closed.
I was already expecting a baby and I asked my parents: it’s a good time for them to give us money, we have some savings, we plan to buy an apartment. And my mother and father said that they had no more money, they had to pay their daughter’s debts, and they had no savings left.
My husband and I took a loan, I began to communicate with my parents less often, I still had a grudge against them: it turns out that they gave everything to one daughter, and I was left with nothing. My husband’s parents helped us, we bought an apartment, my husband looked for a part-time job and later we lived very well. My husband bought me a car; I could go somewhere with the child by myself. We rested, ate well, had everything that an ordinary family needs for a good life.
And once my mother called me; she said that my sister got divorced and now lives with her child, because their apartment belongs to her husband. And recently my sister was hospitalized; my mother is sitting with her granddaughter, they need money and my parents ask me to help my sister, because I live so well and they know that I have money. And I refused, because my relatives once refused to help me.
For some reason, when my sister’s business was going well, she did not mention me, and how could she take money from her parents to pay off her debts, because she knew that this money was saved for me, my parents saved it for my apartment. Parents gave everything to one child, and now they remembered that they also have me. But they remembered me not because they want to communicate, but because they need money. And I will not give them anything. Let them take care of themselves, as I used to do.
