My Parents Abandoned Me Because I Wanted to Start a Family, While They Only Wanted Me to Grow and Build a Business!

My relationship with my parents unravelled sharply when I began making choices guided by my own desires instead of following their instructions. From a young age, they meticulously steered every detail of my life, ensuring my success at school and restricting my involvement to activities they deemed worthwhile. Childhood friendships were discouraged, achievements were expected, but never celebrated.

Their vision of the ideal child forced me into a life largely devoid of joymy dreams and interests routinely dismissed. Fiction books were strictly off-limits; only educational games and toys were allowed. Even picking a university wasnt my decision; despite my academic excellence, the constant pressure to be flawless became suffocating.

Amidst this rigorous control, I discovered lovehis name was Mark. Aware of my parents disapproval, we kept our relationship hidden, in fear of their wrath. Eventually, Mark and I chose to wed quietly, far from their watchful eyes. True to form, my parents erupted, berating me and chastising my failure to embody the perfect child they had painstakingly moulded.

When I became pregnant, their disappointment only deepened. Thankfully, Marks parents welcomed us warmly, offering support, while mine remained distant and cold. Even after our babys birth, they refused to offer congratulations or meet their grandchild. Instead, they seized the moment to express their dismay at my life decisions, reinforcing their belief that I had wasted my future.

Their harsh words cut me deeply. Despite my efforts to reach out to my mother, she stopped answering, leaving me feeling utterly abandoned by those who should have stood beside me. It became clear their desire to control me had overtaken any love they once had, and they chose to sever ties simply because I sought happiness and independence.

As time passed, I gradually accepted the reality that our relationship might never mend. I stopped hoping for reconciliation, finally understanding that their rigid expectations clashed irreparably with my longing for self-fulfilment. Though the distance from my parents is painful, Ive found solace in the love and support of Mark and his family, who embrace me for who I am. My journey to happiness has been challenging, but I now know my joy shouldnt rest on anyone elses standards. I will continue to forge a life filled with love and acceptanceeven if it means leaving the stifling expectations of my past behind.
