I want to tell you about what is going on in my life. I almost never fought with my mother-in-law. Why? Because she was absolutely sure that she knew everything about everything. And she was also very surprised that I do not understand it. To argue with her and prove something to her was useless.
As soon as Frank and I got married, my mother-in-law started telling me what I had to do and how to do it.
– You have to feed my Frank very well. He really loves good food! I’ll teach you everything! And I will be able to make hodgepodge at me, and bake pies. I’ll also teach you how to clean, iron and do laundry!
– I know how to cook! And I know how to wash and clean too! – I said.
But my mother-in-law was unstoppable. We bought an apartment not far from my mother-in-law. The house was very nice and the apartment was for sale inexpensively. We made good repairs in the apartment and began to live in it. And six months later I got pregnant.
After that we started to make a nursery. And my mother-in-law was directly involved. She just wouldn’t leave me alone for a minute and was always teaching me about life. My mother-in-law didn’t go home until late at night. Of course I didn’t like it very much. I complained to Frank, but nothing helped. When I was pregnant, I still went to work and met with my friends. And when our son was born, I couldn’t do all that anymore. After all, I had a small child in my arms. Now my mother-in-law spent even more time with us.
I really relaxed when the baby fell asleep, but in the presence of my mother-in-law I was embarrassed to do it. I complained to Frank about his mother. And he said that I should be happy that his mother was helping me so much. And then my life changed for the better. My mother-in-law stopped coming to see me at all. The best part was that she and I didn’t fight. On the contrary, we have a great relationship now.
What happened, then, and why did my mother-in-law stop coming to see us so often? The fact is that my mother-in-law’s old push-button phone broke and Frank got her a nice smart phone. I taught my mother-in-law how to use this phone. I told and showed her how to access the Internet, registered my mother-in-law in social networks. And now my mother-in-law comes to me only when she has questions related to the phone.
She no longer scolds me when I did not have time to do something or something not cooked. I am now persuading my husband to give my mother-in-law a computer so that she won’t come to us at all
