Two years have passed since I got married, yet my mother-in-law has never accepted me. She believes her son deserves better and does everything to break us apart.
At first, I ignored her comments, but her criticism grew harsher. No matter what I did, it was never good enough.
My husband knew but always said things would changethat deep down, she was kind.
One morning, she stormed into my room and threw a bucket of cold water on me, yelling, “Wake up, lazy girl!” I jolted awake, soaked and stunned.
When I asked why, she snapped, “In my house, no one sleeps past morning! Everyone wakes early!”
I checked the clock6:30 AM, Sunday. Shaking with anger, I replied, “I deserve rest! It’s my only day off.”
She scoffed, “What rights? Under my roof, you follow my rules!”
That was the last straw. She had crossed every line, and I knew it was time to act…
I shared everything with my husband, furious yet determined. I told him how humiliated I felt, how I couldnt endure it anymore.
I wasnt asking him to choose sidesjust to set boundaries and stand by me.
After a long silence, he finally met my eyes. “You’re right. We come first. Lets leave and build our own life.”
We decided to walk away, free from her control.
