My mom tells Julia and me to take a loan from the bank to buy an apartment, but she doesn’t want to help.

Julia and I have been living in a rented apartment for a year and a half now. Before we got married, I lived with my mother and brother, and Julia paid for the university dormitory. Since we were husband and wife, we decided that it was time to get a place to live, even if it was rented, for two people. And my mom is not happy with that. She thinks that we need to save up for a private apartment, but at these prices it is impossible. We do not have enough life to buy something without help. And my mother also pressures us to take out a loan.

Julie’s parents can’t help either. Her family is worse than mine. At least my mom is sociable, she can drop by for a visit or invite us in, she is always interested in our life and progress, and Julia’s parents are on their own and feed us three more mouths. You can’t expect any help from them, and besides, Julia’s younger sister is only six years old – she has yet to grow up and grow before she sells and splits the apartment. And my mom has some savings, there is an opportunity to help in some way, but she doesn’t want to.

Since we can not do without a loan, I think that the right way is not to try. We have a great rented apartment, in a year and a half we have never had a rent increase, and the owner is a very nice person. Sometimes we have to worry about what will happen if one of us loses his job and it gets too expensive to rent, but we don’t have a better option yet. Julia and I are afraid to take loans – life is too unpredictable. That’s how we live, listening to my mother’s indignation over the lack of a place to live.
