My husband’s parents can help us with housing, but they don’t want to. So let them not hope to see their grandson

My husband has wealthy parents. They knew very well that after we got married, my husband and I decided to build our own house. We dreamed of a cozy house with a large yard. But even though they had the opportunity, my husband’s parents never offered us their help. Even though they saw how we saved every penny we had. In the four years we’ve been married, we’ve only managed to buy a plot and put in the foundation.

I love my husband very much, and I didn’t marry him because of his parents’ wealth. Immediately after the wedding, we started living in a rented apartment. What we earn is not enough to build our own home. That’s why we decided not to have children for now.

Once we were visiting my mother-in-law and father-in-law. They started asking when we would decide to have a child. I answered that until we have our own place, we are not addressing this issue yet. And where would we get the money from? My husband’s parents pretended not to understand.

Time passed. My husband and I decided that after thirty it is not so easy to get pregnant. And we wanted to be young parents. Three months later, I found out I was pregnant.

We went to my husband’s parents to share the news with them. I hoped they would at least help us with money. But this did not happen. They were happy for us, and that was it… Then they said they had no money to help us. I know very well that they have money. My father-in-law is saving for a new car. However, I don’t want to clarify anything with them. Even though we are very offended.

When the baby comes, we are not going to keep in touch with them.

Even if my mother-in-law and father-in-law want to see their grandson, they will be refused. Let them admire their piece of tin if it is more important to them than their grandson. We really hoped that they would come around. The baby will be born soon. It’s a pity, but our child will come from the hospital to a rented apartment. And I blame my husband’s parents for this.

Is buying a car more important than buying a home for their future grandson? And who are they after that? I cannot understand their behavior. If I had the opportunity, I would definitely help my children. What do you think?
