My Husband Has an Intense Email Friendship with His Former Colleague – and She’s Still Part of Our Lives Even Though She Lives Abroad

I can honestly say Im incredibly fortunate to have my husband. Hes almost the perfect man for me! But, as is always the case, perfect people simply dont exist. Over time, Ive discovered that my husband does have one small flaw: hes a bit too sociable, always open, and extremely friendly. Some would say thats nothing to complain about, but theres a twist

David enjoys friendships with women. Hes never been secretive about ittheres no hidden correspondence or anything shadybut that doesnt mean I feel comfortable. Hes been exchanging messages for years with a former colleague of his. Emily, as shes called, married ages ago and moved abroad with her husband, yet shes never truly vanished from our lives. Even now, her name still pops up in our home from time to time.

Whenever David experiences something unusual or noteworthy, whether at work or while travelling, two women hear about it before anyone else: myself and his former work friend. Every time hes faced with a big decision, he asks not just me, but her as well. David talks everything over with Emily. Sometimes, they even chat about things that ought to stay strictly between a husband and wife! To be honest, it really gets under my skin.

I want to say it again: hes a wonderful husband. We split our household responsibilities right down the middle. He earns a good living and, on a regular basis, we spend quality time togetherDavid takes me out for dinners, to the theatre, or to the cinema. The only thing I truly dont understand is why he feels the need to maintain this connection with another woman.

Maybe it sounds silly, but lately Ive found myself feeling increasingly jealous of my own husband. Oddly enough, I dont feel this way about any of the other women he works with.

What is it hes missing? Why does he still need this friendship?
