Children are the meaning of our lives.
One day I decided to paint the wall in the garage and, so that my daughter would not stay at home, I took her with me. Drawing with chalk on the floor, she said:
– I am so glad that God made you my mother.
I did not understand this sentence and asked again:
– What?
This time she came up with an even more awkward phrase:
– I am glad that you are my mommy from God.
I was touched. Then my baby started to pray:
– Lord, thank you for giving me my beloved mommy. And thank you (I did not understand this phrase). Thank you that she always cooks me breakfast. We will also make pumpkin biscuits today.
Then she opened her eyes and continued to draw.
– Who taught you all this?” I persistently asked her.
Tears rolled down my face, because I had never encountered such a thing. She is only three years old, and I definitely did not expect such phrases.
Her tiny heart held more love than I could imagine, and her thoughts embrace such concepts as God, love and gratitude… You don’t always see that in adults.
– Thank you, – I said, smiling, – I am very, very glad that the Lord sent me such a daughter.
I puzzledly began to continue painting the wall, when my daughter asked another question:
– Did you have to wait long for me, Mom?
I had already told her this story a million times, but she wanted to hear it again. This time I left the paint and went over to her:
– Yes, my dear. I asked God for a child for a very long time, but he did not give it to me. But you did come into our family. We are very happy!
– Do you know why God did not give you a child for so long?” the girl asked.
– No, dear, I do not know, – I answered confusedly.
– I know why,” said my daughter, – because he was making me.
Looking into her blue eyes, I really saw an unearthly miracle. They radiated such wisdom as if she was thousands of years old.
Such a simple answer from a child, but so much meaning. I really had a feeling that this child had been sleeping on God’s chest for a very long time, as if heaven did not want to let her go.
With this story I want to convey the idea that every couple will have a child. You will definitely wait for it. I do not know whether you will have children by birth or adoption. No one can understand how everything is arranged in heaven. Just be sure and do not lose hope.
