My brother was so lazy to clean the house that I had to come across the city, do the cleaning and go back

In our house, our father’s rules were always honored. He used to say that repairing or moving furniture, earning money was a man’s job. But cleaning, cooking, and raising children is a woman’s job. We lived by these rules, but I didn’t like them at all. -“Do you think your husband will tolerate dirty dishes in the sink? Yes, he’ll run away from you,” my father told me. -Then I will choose a man who is not obsessed with the division of labor, who will help me, – I answered my father, and he laughed.

When my brother joined the army, my father died. His heart stopped in his sleep. It was very hard for us because my mother never worked, and I was still studying at the university. My mother tried to get a part-time job somewhere, hoping that when my brother came home from the army, it would be easier to live. At that moment, I moved to live with my fiancé. And by the way, I found a man who helped me with everything and did not divide labor into women’s and men’s work. If I came home tired after work, he could easily make dinner for us.

Only with the arrival of my brother, my mother’s life did not get better. Because he was brought up according to his father’s rules. If the house needs cleaning, laundry, and dinner is not yet ready, my brother will not lift a finger to help his mother.
-I work all week, and today is my day off. I have the right to rest.
– But mom works all week too, isn’t it hard for you to do something?
-This is not a man’s job!

I have to come across town to help my mother with her household chores. I don’t understand where my brother’s conscience has gone.
