My parents have two children: me and my brother, who is five years younger. We both inherited our parents’ house. By that time, I had managed to save up for my own small apartment, and my brother had yet to find a place to live, so I told him that he could re-register the entire house for himself, as I needed it less than he did. The house was comfortable and spacious, but it had one big disadvantage: there were buses to the city, but given the money and time spent on travel, it was easier to stay in the regional district (where the house was actually located).
My brother did not like our neighborhood. He really wanted to move out of there as soon as possible. I offered him to live with me for a while while he looked for a place to live and a job. I wanted him to first try to find a job with a good salary, and then sell the house to buy an apartment in the city. Apparently, this topic was not to his taste.
I don’t know what my brother was thinking at the time, but he sold the house and bought himself an expensive foreign car with the money. He rented an apartment on the street where we lived as a family, so he was still far from the city. He didn’t have enough money for an apartment in the city. But now he comes to the city in his car, although he probably hadn’t heard of gasoline prices before he bought the car, because he spends more on gasoline now than he did on the bus. After that, he remembered my offer. Now he’s asking to see me, and I don’t want to let him in. I want him to realize the full extent of the consequences of his rash actions.
