Miniature horses are found in several countries of the world, although they are mainly in Europe and America. Its denomination “miniature” is given by the height of the animal, which is less than 86 and 97 centimeters. Peabody was the smallest miniature horse that ever existed. So much so that he could live perfectly well inside his family’s house. Although at the beginning of his life, his story was somewhat sad.
When this horse was born, he was so small in size that his mother rejected him; he couldn’t reach her udder to be fed. Someone called miniature horse trainer Faith Smith to tell her about the case, because the vet said that his legs were crooked and that his bite did not allow him to chew anything; and therefore, he was going to be put down.
This person offered Faith to go get the horse in two days at the most and so she crossed the whole country to get her little one. She took him to a hotel room where she could clean him up and rest him for a while. Since all the horse wanted to do was eat, this woman understood that of course he also wanted to live. In this way, this little guy adapted quickly, his legs straightened out and he could now run all over the house.
His head also grew and his jaw aligned. He also gained three dog friends with whom he was inseparable. Faith says that Peabody must have thought he was just another dog, because at only 6 weeks old he weighed 8 kilos; he was much smaller than most dogs. When it was time to eat, he would run around with the other 3 dogs with excitement and since he lived inside the house because he was a very small horse, he also slept with them. It is not normal for horses to be indoor animals, not even when they are miniatures, but Peabody was so, so small that it was best for him to live indoors; unless he grew bigger.
And thanks to his indoor life, Peabody got stronger and stronger. At first, Faith was a little nervous because she didn’t know how the dogs would receive him; but everything went great. They were best friends without hesitation. Peabody wasn’t one in a million, he was unique in the entire existence of horses. Living indoors most of the time, he was also potty trained in a special potty area. This little guy also was and will be a sensation on Faith’s TikTok, where you can see all of his adventures.
Faith picked up Peabody when he was only 3 days old, he became a worldwide sensation in New Zealand, Australia, England, India, France, Italy, Brazil, Canada, Ireland, England and the list goes on. To date, Peabody was the world’s smallest horse at 16 1/2 inches tall. He was born on May 7, 2021, but on September 14 of the same year the horse died at 5 pm.
Aged 4 months and 1 week, Peabody passed away from liver failure. Dwarfs are unhealthy little creatures, but in his short life this horse got his own Hollywood show, was on Kelly Clarkson and was interviewed in over 20 countries around the world. Without a doubt, the world loved Peabody, who brought thousands of smiles and touched many hearts.
